While bigger dogs have fewer options, smaller dogs have some cute options for travel about town. These dog carriers look like purses or fashionable hand bags. They have a window or hole so the pampered puppy has an unobstructed view of the scenery passing by.

The dog carriers can be made of easy to clean vinyl or posh leather. The styles and colors vary across the whole range so it’s easy to find one that matches the owner’s current wardrobe. The straps are long enough for the owner to wear on her shoulder for easy mobility.

Bigger dogs will have to use the old standby crates. This is necessary because not only would it be impossible for one to carry a lab in a shoulder bag, but also because more durable materials are needed for the big, strong dogs. A carrier made of thick durable plastic with a metal door is probably the best bet.
